THE CENTRE FOR SOLIDARITY IN RESEARCH AND DEVELOPMENT (CRDS)
The Centre for Research and Development Solidarity (CRDS) is a research institution that VICALP has supported in collaboration with Dr. Dip Kapoor, a professor at Alberta University in Canada. The purpose of the research institution is to conduct studies on indigenous communities, their existential and emerging issues, with a special focus on their cultural identity, and the struggles and efforts they have faced against numerous odds and obstacles in the process of preserving their societies and in transitioning from one socio-political economic situation to another throughout their historical journey.
So far we have completed four studies on issues of people’s socio-cultural practices in relation to production and ownership of wealth, learning from people’s movements, Dalit budgeting and status of Dalit children in schools and methods of their resistance against caste based discriminations in schools.
